About Courtney Jerome, Owner & Creative Director

Courtney Jerome Media LLCHi. I’m Courtney. And to answer your first question … Yes. I’m that girl from that show about Michigan on PBS. The former Destination Michigan host and segment producer on the TV series? Yes, that’s me. And secondly, yes. I’m that girl who has written stories for Traverse Magazine. Yes, it is my name you’ve seen on MyNorth.com and in their print publications. And, yes. I was the previous station manager of UpNorthTV (now Traverse Area Community Media), broadcasting live events like the National Cherry Festival Parade, Traverse City Film Festival, TEDx Traverse City, and Picnic at the Opera. It’s true. You saw me directing large camera crews at all hours of the day and night in Northern Michigan.

Telling others’ stories is what people say I am “born to do,” and that’s part of the reason why Courtney Jerome Media LLC launched in late 2017. That, and having a more flexible schedule to spend time with our family. I am grateful for the talented teams I’ve trained professionally alongside with throughout my EMMY Award-winning career, and I am so proud of the Courtney Jerome Media team we have now. We get to keep telling the stories of hard-working community members through a variety of content that connects—tributing the businesses and nonprofit organizations that make this state great, and the one that we all love to call home.

In addition to CJM, Courtney also serves on the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Great Lakes Bay Region Board, the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) Board, and the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation’s Community Relations Committee.

“I pride myself in the professional relationships I’ve built throughout my career. And I’m proud those connections can help small businesses when they’re looking for nearly anything creative or media related. If a business is looking for a skill I don’t have, or they have a project larger than I can personally take on at the moment, I probably have someone within the CJM team that can do the job great. And I specifically, strategically, request the right person per individual campaign, that I believe will lead to a positive result. They might have only joined me for one project. Or maybe for several campaigns. Either way, they’re part of the CJM team.”
